Altering Methane Emission, Fatty Acid Composition, and Microbial Profile during In Vitro Ruminant Fermentation by Manipulating Dietary Fatty Acid Ratios

چکیده

This study evaluated the effects of different dietary n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) ratios on in vitro ruminant fermentation. Methane production, composition, and microbial profiles were compared after fermentation rumen fluid collected from cows that had been fed isoenergetic isoproteic experimental diets at three ratios: 3.04 (HN6, high n-6 source), 2.03 (MN6, medium 0.8 (LN6, low source). The fermented pH total volatile (VFA) levels significantly decreased (p < 0.05) HN6 group as with those MN6 LN6 groups. Additionally, produced a lower proportion methane than during groups increased C18:2n6 C18:3n3 fluid, respectively, group. Chao 1 diversity index value was observed species richness reduced relative abundances Lachnospiraceae UCG-006 Selenomonas resulted VFA (i.e., acetate, propionate, butyrate, VFA) Furthermore, n-3 PUFAs toxic to Butyrivibrio_2 growth, resulting incomplete biohydrogenation. Taken together, findings suggest supplementation high-forage could reduce emissions, whereas both concentration are reduced.

Recent developments in altering the fatty acid composition of ruminant-derived foods.

There is increasing evidence to indicate that nutrition is an important factor involved in the onset and development of several chronic human diseases including cancer, cardiovascular disease (CVD), type II diabetes and obesity. Clinical studies implicate excessive consumption of medium-chain saturated fatty acids (SFA) and trans-fatty acids (TFA) as risk factors for CVD, and in the aetiology o...

Effects of Linseed Lipid on Ruminal Fatty Acid Metabolism, Nutrient Digestibility, Milk Fatty Acid Composition, and Methane Emission in Ruminants

Linseed lipid in the dietary composition is a major factor influencing the fatty acid composition of milk from ruminants, because fatty acids which reach the duodenum are, at least in part, of dietary origin as well as the result of ruminal microbial biohydrogenation of dietary lipids. In this review, the effect of linseed lipid on ruminal fatty acid metabolism, nutrient digestibility, microbia...

Stimulation of fatty acid biosynthesis by dietary cholesterol and of cholesterol synthesis by dietary fatty acid.

We reported previously that dietary cholesterol produces hypertriglyceridemia in the rat, accompanied by reduced oxidation and increased incorporation of exogenous fatty acid into hepatic triglyceride and increased secretion of very low density lipoprotein. We now report that dietary cholesterol also increases net hepatic fatty acid synthesis and the incorporation of newly synthesized fatty aci...

Fatty Acid Composition Analysis of Aerial Parts of Selected Salvia Species Growing in Iran and Chemotaxonomic Approach by Shoot Fatty Acid Composition

In this study, fatty acid (FA) composition of aerial parts of selected Salvia species from Iran was analyzed by Gas chromatography. The amount of FAs was quantified for leaf and shoot of species as mg per kg (mg/kg) of dry weight. The results showed that FA contents of aerial parts for studied plants varied significantly and changed between 73.05 and 739.50 mg/kg of dried weight. Caprylic (C8:0...
